Shelby
Shelby Rushin, born and raised in sunny South Florida, is a media personality who began her radio career at one of South Florida’s Premiere radio stations, 99 Jamz. It all began over 20 years ago as a Sunday morning board operator. After being promoted to Music Director and Midday personality, her friendly “you can tell me anything” persona intermingled with infectious humor, earned the trust of loyal radio listeners and many South Florida businesses.
Shelby is a philanthropist at heart. With great compassion for others, Shelby thrives on connecting those who can’t with those who can. She was recently recognized as an Unsung Hero by the City of Miami Gardens. Shelby was selected by Legacy Magazine as one of South Florida’s most Influential and Prominent Women in Business and Industry for 2017. She is a 2018 African American Achievers Nominee and was featured in Flava Magazine as A Real Woman of Substance for her dedication to the South Florida Community. Dedicated to service, Shelby founded SHERO Inc. a non-profit organization created to empower the community through literacy and job readiness. She is a mentor with Broward County Schools and presently serves as a counsel board member for the City of Miami Police. Shelby’s a Graduate of Bethune Cookman University and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
